Yemen
In 2009 I lived in Sana'a for seven months while I studied Arabic. These pictures are from that time. When the country and the region were quietly on the brink. They are of photographs of the landscapes, neighborhoods and people. Of the tea breaks, bags of qat and people busy living. This place is gone now, but the people are still there, swallowed by the violence we have callously come to expect from the region.
